Dr. Saxton focuses on how individuals and firms use experience and skills to generate value and especially how they adapt to uncertainty in the environnment. Brian’s real world experience includes employment at American Standard in Tiffin, Ohio as a Quality Technician, Creative Specialties International (a division of Moen) as an Associate Business Planning Analyst, and at the Beachwood Business Development Center as a graduate consultant.

Dr. Saxton’s research interests include the capabilities that enable firms to pursue entrepreneurial activity, the impact of human capital within the firm, the building and impacts of organizational routines, the use of sports as a context for organizational scholarship, and Catholic Social Teaching as applied to business. His work on these subjects has appeared in the Journal of Catholic Social Thought, Journal of Management, Human Resource Development Quarterly,and the Journal of Management Education.
