Background
Dr. Thomas Zlatoper previously taught at West Virginia University; was a research associate at the Center for Regional Economic Issues, Case Western Reserve University; and was President of the Cleveland Association for Business Economics. He has been a member of the Northeast Ohio Council of Regional Economic Policy Advisors. At John Carroll University, he has served as Chairperson of the Department of Economics and Finance, as Interim Dean of the Graduate School, and as Interim Dean of the Boler School of Business.

Dr. Zlatoper’s teaching interests include principles of economics, intermediate microeconomics, mathematical economics, and econometrics.
Research
Dr. Zlatoper's research interests include transportation safety and sports economics. His work has been published in the Journal of Transport Economics and Policy, Applied Economics, Accident Analysis and Prevention, Managerial and Decision Economics,Transportation Research - Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, and other journals. He co-authored the book Causes and Deterrents of Transportation Accidents: An Analysis by Mode.
