Background
Dr. Zhang joined the John Carroll as an assistant professor of finance in August 2019. Dr. Zhang is the Director of the Financial Planning and Wealth Management Program in the Department of Economics and Finance.
Courses
Dr. Zhang’s teaching interests are in the areas of personal financial planning, retirement planning, corporate finance, financial markets, and wealth management.
Research
Dr. Zhang has research interests in household’s portfolio choice, investors’ risk perception, equity market participation, annuity, factor investing, mutual funds, and ETFs. An overarching scheme of Dr. Zhang’s research is to empirically investigate the financial decision making of individual and institutional investors. His work has been published in journals such as Journal of Financial Planning and Journal of Personal Finance.
