Supply Chain Management
Background
I've been blessed with a challenging and exciting business career, alternating back and forth between management consulting and executive roles. In the 90s I was a partner at Booz Allen Hamilton (famous for coining the phrase "supply chain"). In the next decade, I was the Chief Operations Executive for American Greetings. After AG went private, I joined another consulting firm (McKinsey & Co.) and led their supply chain practice for consumer goods industries. Last year I decided it was time to refocus (but not retire) so I began teaching part-time at the Boler College of Business and enrolled in the Doctor of Management program at Case Western Reserve University. One element of consistency across these various roles has been my functional focus at the research, exploring how operations and marketing leaders in consumer package goods companies collaborate to build direct-to-consumer capabilities.
