Background

Dr. Sheldon is a CPA in Ohio and a Certified Information Systems Auditor. He is also a member of the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, and ISACA. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Risk Assurance practice.

Courses

Dr. Sheldon’s teaching interests include accounting information systems, financial accounting, and managerial accounting.

Research

Dr. Sheldon’s research interests include corporate social responsibility (CSR), the influence of accounting information on decision making, professional codes of conduct, and the impact of emerging technologies on the accounting profession (i.e., blockchain). His work has been published in a number of journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, the Accounting, Auditing & Accountability JournalCurrent Issues in Auditing, and The Accounting Educators’ Journal.

Additional Information

In pursuing his Ph.D., Dr. Sheldon was selected as an Accounting Doctoral Scholar (ADS), a program implemented by the AICPA Foundation to help fund and support those transitioning from public accounting to doctoral studies.
