Minor in Business
Students of all majors can benefit from a minor in business. At some point in their professional lives, all students, regardless of major, may be in management or leadership positions that include budget, financial, marketing, or personnel responsibilities.
What does this mean for you?
As a College of Arts and Sciences major, you’ll receive a solid foundation in the liberal arts, sciences, and communications. Your minor in business consists of 31-34 credit hours in the Boler College of Business, including courses in accountancy, economics, statistics, marketing, and much more.
The business minor requires the following courses:
- AC 201
- AC 202
- BI 100
- EC 201
- EC 202
- EC 210 (or DATA 122, DATA 228 or DATA 229)
- MHR 352
- MK 301
- Pick one (1): BI 200, SCM 301, or SCM 328
-
Two (2) upper-division electives from one department, excluding MHR 499. FN 312 is suggested. (Note: these two classes are only needed for students whose bulletin of entry is Fall 2019 or before).
How do we do this?
John Carroll is dedicated to developing socially responsible leaders. With a foundation in over 450 years of Jesuit Catholic teaching, Boler faculty focus on providing our students with the tools needed to make ethical decisions in business and in the larger community.
Students who wish to minor in business are advised to declare their intention in the Boler College of Business dean’s office at the beginning of their junior year.
