Boler College of Business at John Carroll University Ranked #1 in Ohio for CPA Exam Passage Rate
Stellar performance on the CPA exam by recent JCU graduates with degrees in Accountancy has earned John Carroll University’s Boler College of Business the top spot, again, among the state’s large Accountancy programs.
The 2019 passage rate of 77.1% for first-time test takers was the highest passage rate of any of the institutions with large programs in Ohio and ranked 27th in the nation.
“I think it’s a testament to the quality of our program and the high standards set by our faculty,” said Dr. Albert Nagy, Professor and Chair, Kramer School of Accountancy and Information Sciences. “We ranked ahead of The Ohio State University, Wright State University, Miami University, University of Dayton, and Case Western Reserve University, and that’s no small feat.”
The rigorous undergraduate and graduate programs in Accountancy ensure that students are CPA exam-ready and have enabled Boler to become a key recruiting school for the best accounting firms.
“This is one more example of how well our students are prepared when they graduate,” said Dr. Alan Miciak, John M. Boler Dean of the Boler College of Business. “It’s the reason employers want to hire Boler graduates. They know that our students are ready to meet business challenges and provide solutions on day one.”
“I congratulate our students, Dr. Nagy and the faculty on this outstanding accomplishment.”
