Assistant Professor of Accounting, Dr. Arthur Petzel, III, is named this year’s winner of the Wasmer Outstanding Teaching Award. The award recognizes excellence in teaching and is awarded annually to a member of the faculty of the Boler College of Business.

The Muldoon Center for Entrepreneurship at John Carroll University has received a $50,000 grant from Verizon to support new programs and projects that empower middle school children and local residents to build a stronger, more connected community in Cleveland’s Buckeye-Larchmere neighborhood.

The Challenge is global in scope and provides a real world approach to asset valuation and financial analysis. According to the CFA Institute, “the event provides hands-on mentoring and intensive financial analysis training. Students form teams to research and analyze a publicly traded company and compete with students from other schools on a local, regional and global level.”

Congratulations to (from left to right) Ethan Sutton, Westin Fishel, Christian Litwinowicz, and Lauren Kemmerling, the winning team of this year’s PwC Challenge Case Competition.  Challenge is an opportunity for students to experience real-world decision making and teaming early on in their academic careers, while also gaining exposure to business professionals and leaders in the marketplace.

The Boler College of Business at John Carroll University and the Barron’s Investing in Education Program from Dow Jones today announced a partnership that will offer a Barron’s digital subscription to Boler College students and faculty. The relationship with Barron’s, America’s premier financial resource, is made possible due to the generosity of Kevin H. Myeroff at Sequoia Financial Group.
