Military Benefits Overview
While the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® only covers the equivalent of state school tuition, the VA’s Yellow Ribbon program and our JCU Patriot Award can allow you to attend John Carroll University and the Boler College of Business full-time without any out-of-pocket costs for tuition. This is open to undergraduate and graduate students, and your home of record does not need to be Ohio. Learn more about becoming a Military Veteran student.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Yellow Ribbon Educational Program, which is designed to help military students avoid out-of-pocket tuition and fees that may exceed Post 9/11 GI Bill education benefits. Please talk to an enrollment manager for more information.
Applying for Benefits
If you have not applied for benefits, you can do so through Veterans Benefits Administration site. You should visit this site if you are a U.S. military veteran, a service member on active duty, a member of the Selected Reserve, a spouse/dependent of a "service connected" disabled or deceased veteran, or a family member that has been approved to receive transferred benefits.
Your first step to becoming a Boler Military Veteran student is applying to John Carroll University. You'll indicate your interest in pursuing a major in business on your application. You'll apply using the same process and transfer application as a transfer student regardless of whether you have formal college coursework completed (you will receive academic credit for your military training and experience). If you’re accepted to JCU, you’re also accepted into the Boler College of Business.
